This page is meant  to help you understand who we are, what we do, and why we are different to most of the Survival-Disaster-Y2K websites and businesses selling books and miscellaneous products. 

There are many good informative website resources for purchasing Gas Masks and other survival products. We are not such an entity. You will need some of their products and our website will link to a variety of these necessary outlets.  

You have access to the world wide web - have at it, browse until your eyeballs feel they are ready to pop-out. 

DST is not a doomsday, political or religious based website or service.
DST is not a "patriot" website - it is informational/educational.  (Patriotism to my country America is a given!)

DST offers services to the general working civilian population, first in knowledge to make informed decisions with a priority on self-sufficiency, then in survival against a harsh climatic environments brought about by any cause, and then preparing as the days of old Civil Defense for - nuclear, chemical, and biological warfare/attack.

DST offers services to the public, so you can learn "how-to" protect yourself, and "against-what".  I personally do not believe any government, military, or police can protect or spare the citizen from a disastrous event.  As-in WTC 9-11 terrorist attack, a home invasion, robbery or rape, no matter how much governmental security is in place the authorities only become involved AFTER THE FACT - when a family member is already brutalized or dead.  
(This does not mean we do not support and work with law enforcement or good government).  
You are living in ignorance and denial if you believe even in a total Police State (such as the occupied territories / Israeli-Palestine), that the authorities can protect you from a terrorist. In event of any disaster, flood, hurricane, or outbreak - you become a number, you are nothing special, you stand in line with everyone else - HOPING the authorities get things under control in time to save your life.

A search of those offering food supplies, survival gear, books and information will produce hundreds to thousands of website-experts. There are some excellent sources on the web, and we intend to let our subscribers know those we find credible. 

My point - the point of Peter Kawaja (DST founder) is that, of all the sites/stores selling Y2K and SURVIVAL products - very few have stated up-front who they are and their credentials. I've found several with inferences similar to / that the owner has consulted for the FBI as example, but like the news media making the statement; "credible sources claim Al Qeada was seen in Disneyworld today"... the statements of  PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and EXPERTISE of the website owner / book author (expert) is as vague as those media "credible sources" (unknown-unstated).   BUYER - BEWARE !

The consumer is relying on a fancy website look or the person who has authored a book (most which are plagiarized information gleaned from somewhere else and not personal real-life experience) - and may place their trust  and family's lives on the line based on the book author or store who may have gotten into the Y2K or SURVIVAL business without having real-life experience in disaster survival, bio-weapons, or counter-terrorism, BUT ARE MERELY  CLASSROOM EDUCATED.

DST is backed by the first hand real life and death experiences of Peter Kawaja and his resources, people who worked with him and others known to him who "have experience".
